At September 28 extraordinary sitting, the RA NA Standing Committee on Defense and Security, chaired by Andranik Kocharyan, debated the issue on the election of the Deputy Chair of the Standing Committee. The NA Armenia Faction again nominated Artur Ghazinyan as a candidate. He has proposed to create a subcommittee which will study the circumstances of not stopping the war held on the previous year on October 7.

Andranik Kocharyan clarified that according to the Constitutional Law – the NA Rules of Procedure, any other issue could be included in the agenda of the extraordinary sitting. The opposition deputies, except the member of With Honor Faction Tigran Abrahamyan left the session hall.

The deputies of the NA Civil Contract Faction voted against the candidate.

The MPs debated the issue related to the election of a moderator of the Committee sitting during the absence of the Chair. It has been decided that the Committee member Armen Khachatryan should moderate the sitting during the absence of the Chair.

Andranik Kocharyan informed that it was envisaged to make an amendment in the Constitutional Law – the NA Rules of Procedure in the near future, with which, in case of being nominated twice and not beee elected, the faction should nominate another candidate.
